Submitting Incident Reports and Notice of Violent Acts

The Bureau has established a dedicated e-mail address to be used exclusively for submitting Incident Reports and Notice of Violent Act reports, BSIS.IncidentReports@dca.ca.gov.

Private Patrol Operators, Security Guards, and Alarm Company Operators and their employees are required by law to submit an Incident Report form to the Bureau within seven (7) days of an incident involving a physical altercation, discharge and/or use of a firearm, or the use of a deadly weapon while on duty.

Repossession Agencies, Repossession Agency Qualified Managers, and Repossession Agency Employees are required by law to submit a Notice of Violent Act form to the Bureau within seven (7) days after the occurrence of a violent act.

The addition of the e-mail address provides a more timely method for the Bureau to receive the notices.  However, the Bureau will continue to accept these notices at the following address for those who wish to mail the information to the Bureau.
