Important Announcement for Alarm Licensees on AB 830

The Bureau would like to bring your attention to Assembly Bill 830 (AB 830), which was signed into law by Governor Newsom in September 2021, and went into effect July 1, 2022. This announcement only impacts the alarm industry.

AB 830 mandates that all types of alarm applications be online only. The types of alarm applications available are:

  • alarm agent
  • alarm company operator qualified manager
  • alarm company operator
  • branch office

Unfortunately, we are still seeing paper applications coming into the Bureau. While we are continuing to process them, we will stop processing all alarm paper applications effective January 1, 2023. If you submit any type of alarm paper application after this date, it will be returned to you without being processed.

PLEASE NOTE: You will also be responsible for any delinquency fees incurred as a result of missing any deadlines due to incorrect method of submission.

The advantages of going online include less deficiencies within the application, as well as a quicker processing time. Please use BreEZe to submit your application.
