Private Investigators
NOTICE: New Reporting Requirements for PI LLCs (Effective July 1, 2018)
Please be advised that as a result of recently enacted legislation (Senate Bill 559, Chapter 569, Statutes of 2017), effective July 1, 2018, a Private Investigator (PI) licensee organized as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) must report to the Bureau any paid or pending claim against the liability insurance policy that the PI LLC licensee must maintain pursuant to Business and Professions Code Section 7520.3. Furthermore, SB 559 requires the Bureau to post the PI LLC licensee's paid and pending claim data with its license information on the Department of Consumer Affairs BreEZe License Verification webpage.
